Ethereum (ETH) is approaching a potentially significant technical breakout, with its momentum also influencing highly liquid ERC-20 assets such as Shiba Inu (SHIB). As ETH tests key resistance, SHIB is seeing notable changes in spot-market capital flows among major cryptocurrency exchanges.

A symmetrical triangle has developed on Ethereum’s 12-hour chart, according to analysis from Ali Martinez. A previous breakout from a similar formation resulted in a 31% rally within three days. This time, a decisive move above the $2,474 resistance level could open the door for Ethereum to target $3,000.

On-chain activity is also supporting the bullish Ethereum outlook. Before the triangle formation emerged, large ETH holders reportedly withdrew more than $300 million worth of Ethereum from exchange wallets and transferred the assets into cold storage. Such withdrawals can reduce immediately available selling supply.

ETH is currently trading within the $2,480–$2,510 range after recently testing an eight-month high near $2,660.

Meanwhile, Shiba Inu remains one of the most liquid tokens in the Ethereum ecosystem and could benefit if ETH gains further momentum. SHIB/USD is trading between approximately $0.00000513 and $0.00000527, while its daily Relative Strength Index stands at a neutral 52.14.

Exchange netflow data shows a mixed redistribution of SHIB liquidity. Binance recorded net outflows of $122,020, while Coinbase posted $156,070 in outflows, potentially signaling transfers toward longer-term storage. In contrast, OKX registered $199,480 in net inflows and Bybit recorded $93,820.

Binance continued to dominate SHIB spot liquidity with roughly $2.31 million in trading volume. Bybit’s daily SHIB volume, however, dropped 64.49% to about $603,100.

Shiba Inu’s deep ERC-20 liquidity has historically made it a higher-beta proxy for Ethereum market moves. For the near-term bullish setup to remain viable, SHIB needs to defend the $0.00000500 support level. Ethereum, meanwhile, must maintain its technical structure and secure a convincing breakout from the 12-hour triangle for the projected move toward $3,000 to gain credibility.
